I have a service that I would love to use with Magento but the current configurable product option is just not sophisticated enough.

I could try and explain it a little bit more but I might as well just link to a site that already has an ecommerce shopping cart product with these features…

For this to work one would have to overlook and expand the data model:

This would not make much sense without tight cooperation with the core team, because otherwise it would be either a dead end or an endless project.
