PHP Extension “mysqli” must be loaded

Please set all required settings before clicking Continue

Is there any way to avoid this and just install Magento with only mysql ? =/

Theoretically it is possible, but will require Zend_Db_Adapter_Abstract based class that will support legacy mysql extension, which is not available in stock Zend Framework.
