Hello,

Is it possible to use instead of mySQL MSSQL?

E.g. replace the PDO_MySQL with PDO_DBLIB

Thanks for the information,
Rainer

Hi,

Looking for how to run Magento with a MS SQL Server database I arrived on this post and even though it’s very old I’d like to know if there is any upgrade on Magento to be able to run Magento with MS SQL Server database instead of MySQL.

Are there any news? Are there any good news? smile

Thanks

Fer

Keep in mind that you can link a Microsoft SQL Server to a MySQL Server, giving you access to the MySQL server’s tables from MS SQL. While this doesn’t get Magento running on MS SQL, it does allow MS SQL-based reporting tools to use Magento’s data and allows for queries to be run which join MS SQL and MySQL/Magento tables. Once the link is in place, you could also set up scheduled table synchronization--say, updating Magento’s products tables once a day from your “master” tables in MS SQL.

Have a look at this blog post: https://www.magentocommerce.com/blog/creating-adapters-for-rbdms/ and especially read the pdf that is linked to at the bottom.

Magento have done some great work to allow it to work with all manner of DB’s.  As far as I am aware the DB adapter for Mssql isn’t publicly available yet but I would expect it to be out before too long.
