System > Transactional Emails

Then you can set them in the following places:

System > Configuration > Sales > Sales Emails
System > Configuration > Customers > Newsletter
System > Configuartion > Customers > Customer Configuration

The original ones are all in app/locale/en_US/template ... but they get overwritten with every upgrade there - I haven’t found a way to create a local copy of them without using the previous method I mentioned.

Nah, you can do that.  You can also load the templates when you go to create new ones, though.

Sherrie, do you know where Magento stores the new transactional e-mails that you create with System > Configuration > Sales > Sales Emails?

Am I missing something? I couldn’t find any option in Sales Emails to edit or create a template - only to choose between default and tell-a-friend.

I believe it stores them in the database.

You need to look in System > Transactional Emails

So then, I’ve got to go in and replace every one of these templates? Holy mama. All I want to do is replace the default number and dummy email. Everything else is fine with me. Is there a central location to make those changes?

I know I know, waah waah waah. Nobody likes a whiner.
