When you want to change the name of a Category in the back end no problem, but then in the top menu in the front end the name is the old one.
You then need to create new one and delete the old when, hence, update on category name is not possible?

In admin when editing category you have dropdown box in top left with names of stores, before editing local attributes (which might have different values per store), please select the correct store.
