A client of ours would like to represent their product base in a particular way (one of two particular ways in fact). I would like to know if magento is capable of doing it.
First way:
Can magento represend product variants by individual SKUs - for example a T-Shit product has two colour variants, ‘green’ and ‘blue’. Can magento assign SKUs to both the ‘green’ and ‘blue’ products?
Second way:
Can magento assign product hierarchies? As an alternative to the solution above ^, would it be possible to have the ‘T-Shirt’ as the parent product (without any price or SKU assigned) and then have the variants (’green’ and ‘blue’) as child products represented by individual SKUs?
