I have hosting at Siteground.

Uploaded all the files and but as soon as I try to go to the install.php or the index or want to run magenta-check.php
I am redericted to the domain index page.

I tried placing magento-check.php in another subfolder and run it and the check was okay.

So something is blocking the acces to the magento directory
So I cannot not even start to install :(

(.htaccess or something?)

Please help.

Okay

Hosting at siteground

php version 5.2.5

After uploading the files there is no way of running any of the files in http://www.mydomain.com/magento
it redericts to http://www.mydomain.com

If I rename the .htaccess file and go to http://www.mydomain.com/magento
It says I need to have php 5.2.0 or higher.

I uploaded magento-check.php in a test directory and it says server configuration is OK.

So there has to be something in the .htacces that does not allow executing anything in its directory

Is there really no one that had this problem?

Try uncommenting the RewriteBase rule in the .htaccess file.
