Ron Seigel - This is controlled from the admin. As this was a demo store we just showed the existing functionality. Amazon have their ‘free super saver’ option for some orders but still have ground as an option. I guess it is more up to the store admin to create this in a way that makes sense.
I can’t see how this is “controlled from the admin”.
I have Flat Rate Shipping enabled and Free Shipping enabled. I set Free Shipping to kick in at $100. I place an order for more than $100 worth of merchandise and I’m presented with both options.
Is that how it’s intended to work or are you saying there’s a way to have it work differently?
I did not mean to imply anything of the sort:). What is controlled from the admin is the way you setup your shipping logic and what shipping methods to offer your customers, alongside with how you name the different shipping methods. Let’s say that you offer (and I am using Amazon as an example) 3-5 business days ‘Standard Shipping’ as your flat rate shipping and offer the free shipping (when applicable) as 5-7 days ‘Super Saver Shipping’. Now it is up to your customer to choose between 3-5 days for a cost or 5-7 days free. Which will make more sense (I hope ).
