I’m Violet from Canada, a former OsC addict who is more than ready for a fresh alternative (aka replacement) for my web design clients’ ecommerce needs. Although I’m not a PHP guru, I look forward to contributing as much as I can
As another person said, if Matti Ressler is here, then that’s confirmation enough for me that this project is “the place to be”.
Kudos to the developers of Magento, for putting together what looks to be an AWESOME E-commerce solution.
I’m Jonathon and I very excited about Magento and it’s seamless integration that I see from the tour. However I’m still not able to get Magento to install. Help anyone? LOL
I am new to Magento i have used Zencart in the past, but this software has got me thinking. it looks good and has a nice feel to it.
I am a newbie so i’m hoping for some tech advice.
Hi, my name is Matteo Raggi
I’m from Italy
I have some experiences with oscomerce and zen-cart
and I’m surprised to find a product so much good, I’m happy to test it now and planning to use this in future for my projects and new clients.
I’m trying to be useful to this community, I believe in success of magento.
My name is James Bonham. I am a freelance web developer in the UK.
Looking forward to using Magento for all my eCommerce work. 2008 will be a great year for open source, especially with a product like this coming out. The ultimate combination - Magento for eCommerce, Joomla! for CMS sites - LOVELY!
I am chris, i been around php and .net shopping carts for years. I have contribs with joomla, oscommerce, and a few others along with tons of bug fixes, updates and corrections. I am in search of a SINGLE php mysql solution that is open source and stays up to date with new technologies and code. This looks very promising but i have seen many similar ones turn tides overnight. I hope to see you guys succeed and become the future of open source commerce. Goodluck!
Hi, I’m Aaron, and this is WAY better than OSCommerce!
My cohort, Tim , and I have been trying to launch a performance auto parts website for the last 6 months. We started off trying to bend OSC to our will, but quickly found it to be bending us over its knee and giving us a firm spanking. That’s when we decided to look for other open source solutions, and when we found Magento.
We’re in the middle of the setup process. Tim is working on the design and layout, I’m setting up the backend and product offering. Just the fact that I can do mass product imports alone was enough to make me start singing show tunes and dancing around my office. And the category/attribute options? Forget about it.
Anyways, looking forward to getting involved with the Magento community, and REALLY looking forward to getting our site up.
I just wanted to personally thank everyone involved in the development of this brilliant piece of software. I’ve created personal websites for years, but just learned about joomla a while back. I’ve spent nearly every day the past two weeks trying to find the right shopping cart software to create a store for my sister’s business and this is the most amazing product I’ve found.
Hi my name is Darren and I’ve been doing web-dev for approaching 10 years now, mostly with PHP.

I am everything free on the web and When I found the Magento store I thought Bill its time to start a online e-commerce store...!
Doctor Evil mmm ha ha ha
I am Happy to be apart of the Beta testing for magento and will offer as much service as I can to the community I promise to post regularly and be a general pain in the arse
Hi,
I’ve used “the other” shopping cart software in the past, and was about to again. I was going to launch my new site 1st March, not anymore. I stumbled on this site and have to say I’m very impressed with the “out of the box” design and functionality. I’ve decided to wait for the release candidate and go with that.
I’m must certainly not a coder. I don’t mind playing around with code though to see what happens. I did rely fairly heavily on contributions previously but it looks like most things are already covered with Magento. I very impressed with the stock SEO features, one page check out, upsell and discounting.
The support features in terms of videos etc are also refreshing to see, and I’m sure more will come. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the community coders come up with too, particularly themes and templates!
Well that’s enough sucking up
I’m off to download and play.
I live in Salt Lake City, UT, and I am dedicated to building simple, elegant, visually appealing, web-standards, accessible websites. Just discovered Magento, and it seems absolutely unparalleled. Looking forward to watching it grow.
