I’m a software developer from Europe - Developing software for over 6 years now. Doing computer stuff for about 14 years.
PHP is one of my favorite languages. In my web career I developed a CMS, a framework, a libary, also a templating system and many many websites. I’m a member the of Astalavista Group and I have a special focus on security.
I like Linux very much and dislike Windows
My goals, here, to contribute help as best I can. And to find new like-minded people and of course support for problems
You hit the nail on the head with this package… Just started playing with it a couple days ago…
Thanks for making it Open Source, that will help you grow fast.... I’ll be throwing in some templates to help out… Keep it open…
I’ve never seen anything as modern, professional looking, well laid out, and simple to use as what you have here… Open or Commercial… Good job all...!!!
Well, until I saw all the avatars in this discussion, all the topics that I previously viewed via searching the forums had team members that all had something in common… They were all hotties…
There is not much in the world better than a hottie that also happens to be an accomplished computer nerd… You chicks rock!
Thanks to the guys who made it too, but don’t take offense when I’m not clicking on your profile to see your pic… :D
I’m Guido Jansen and I’m CEO of DutchOpenSource, a Dutch company al about open source promotion and consultancy in The Netherlands. This week we started a Dutch community website for Magento: Dutchento.org. To my knowledge it’s the second local Magento portal (after the French Fragento.org) and I hope the site helps in spreading the use and marketshare of Magento in The Netherlands.
My name is Dave Walker and I run a small Web Design company.
I loaded up Magento on a test site and liked the look of it.
I’ve got a new ecommerce customer coming online in the next month and I’m going to parallel run Magento against other solutions to see how it performs. This will be on a shared server so let’s see how we do :o)

Hello everyone! My name is Steven, and I’m very happy to be joining the Magento community.
My only prior experience on the developer end of ecommerce was an attempt to create a ‘shopping cart’ system from the ground up almost a decade ago for a woman who sold soap. I’m glad I get to stand on the shoulders of such a talented team of people this time...though it looks to be quite a ride getting up to speed with the sheer breadth of Magento.
Recently I’ve been doing desktop support with a lingering desire to get back into web development and design. When the opportunity came up recently to push in that direction with a few projects, I was glad to take it, and here I am learning about a state-of-the-art ecommerce platform!
Please feel free to contact me through any of the facilities on the forum - I look forward to sharing stories, advice and success with many of you!
Seems I have come to the party a bit late, but am looking forward to the features in Magento that I have found lacking in other solutions.
Just installed, it will take me a bit of time before I race back to search the forums for a ‘solution’ that must have been answered many times before!
I saw one thread in the General area which asked “Doesn’t it seem the Magento Forums are dead?” That caught my eye in particular, for honestly if you think about it, it means most Users are using the product rather than trying to to use it, right? Now, from my perspective, that is the level of confidence I have been seeking ......
Hi I’m David working in Manchester, UK. I’m a consultant providing advice on collaborative development of software, of which I see open source software to be a special case. I’m very interested in the commercial model of Magento and am looking forward to developing some opportunities in my part of the country.
I’m currently working on a craft jewellery site that I hope to have completed soon. No better way to get my head around the technology than to dive right in!
I just caught wind of Margento today and I have to say it looks great! Im still learning the ins and outs but its like Drupal meets CRE! I will be starting the process of converting my CRE sites to Margento soon.... Thanks for what appears to be a great product!
