Let’s say I have 5 different colors of balloons. I need to be able to put the following restrictions in place for any order containing balloons:

- The minimum total number of balloons you can order is 20 balloons
- The minimum number of any color is 4 balloons

Here are some examples of valid orders:
- 4 white balloons and 16 blue balloons
- 20 red balloons
- 5 black balloons and 15 yellow balloons

Here are some examples of invalid orders:
- 3 blue balloons and 17 green balloons
- 19 red balloons

Can Magento be configured to allow for this restriction?

Out of the box Magento will only enable you to control the minimum and maximum quantities of an item allowed in the cart for a single SKU item and not for a combination of items.

How about only do this

- The minimum total number of balloons you can order is 20 balloons

An old thread I know, but did you manage to get a solution for this?

We would like to have a minimum total number of items in the cart before the customer can checkout.

As this can not be configured out-of-the-box, is there an other solution (module, extension) for this?
