Hi,

I’m trying to install the Protx Magento Connect extension. When I paste the extension key into the box and hit the install button I get this in the console window:

Failed to download magento-core/Mage_Protx within preferred state “stable”, latest release is version 1.0.19701, stability “beta”, use “channel://connect.magentocommerce.com/core/Mage_Protx-1.0.19701” to install
Cannot initialize ‘channel://connect.magentocommerce.com/core/Mage_Protx’, invalid or missing package file
Install Errors
Package “channel://connect.magentocommerce.com/core/Mage_Protx” is not valid
PEAR ERROR: install failed

Can anyone help? I’m not sure what to do now and I really need to test my store with Protx.

Many thanks,

Lol Mettam

OK. I figured it out! smile I had to go to the Magento Connect Manager settings and select Beta!

Now I have B4Before_ProtxDirect 1.0.12 installed.

Hope this is the best one to try?

Thanks.

I have some trouble installing this.  I have beta selected.

Other extension modules install and a message is displayed beneath the output window, but not with this one (or the blank thtme for that matter)

It stops around ‘Lib_ZF_Locale’ saying success - nothing shows inside magento admin

trying it again I get this in the output - much less than before

=-=-=-=

downloading Mage_Protx-1.1.2.tgz ...
Starting to download Mage_Protx-1.1.2.tgz (11,809 bytes)
. . ...done: 11,809 bytes
downloading Mage_Core_Modules-1.1.6.tgz ...
Starting to download Mage_Core_Modules-1.1.6.tgz (1,274,588 bytes)
...done: 1,274,588 bytes

-=-=-=-

perhaps I can manually install the module? unpack the tgz and copy or move folders to locations and run some sql

I have searched and searched for guidence on this, grateful for any advice
