Can we authorize multiple vendors on Magento? Such that each vendor will have a different admin login (with pre decided authority)

each vendor will offer different products and separate reports shall be generated for all of them

This functionality is not available with Magento out of the box.

All existing core features are offered in the same package. Any feature that is not offered will require either custom development or be offered by the community as an extension through Magento Connect.

I have a team of developers but they have never used Magento. This multi-vendor issue is really critical to a project that we are working on.

Is your solution for this fairly straight forward? That is, have there been many people who have successfully implemented this?

Do you provide documentation to guide our developers? If not, what is our best method of interfacing with your team to implement a multi-vendor platform?

Hi Slave

Did you make any progress on the multi-vendor issue? I uregently need an e-commerce package that can handle multiple vendors. Would love to use Magento, but it seems as if I am bound to buy x-cart pro?

This will require some customization and extensive knowledge of the platform.

That is, have there been many people who have successfully implemented this?

We don’t know of any specific cases of this implementation.

Do you provide documentation to guide our developers?

There is no documentation for this implementation at this time.

If not, what is our best method of interfacing with your team to implement a multi-vendor platform?

Professional services are offered and explained in the Services section of the site.

You may also want to check out this thread for the type of permissions you can give users.

Norman, may be our Advanced permissions extension can do the trick?  It enables admin to assign permissions to users for editing products within specific catalogs and/or store views.

I’ve been searching around trying to see who is in need of a Multiple Account / Vendor / Drop Ship extension.  I have recently created one.  Vendors can sign up for accounts.  After approved, they will be able to add / edit products, view sales, and be paid via PayPal.  All through the extension.  Orders are divided and emailed to each vendor as well.

PM me or email me at geedubya15@gmail.com if you are interested.
