So, I am trying to run Magento on my native language, I input product name via UTF-8 and everything seems nice, when I save it saves correctly, and displays correctly, however when I try to edit I get:

აქ განთავსებული სადებეტო ბარათები

is there anyway to correct it?

Thank you.

Hi, probably not related, but I just got a validation warning that was complaining about the ‘utf8’ not a valid encoding character.

In the configxml you have <charset>utf8</charset>

it should be ‘utf-8’.

Worth to give it a try.

@Giorgi: chinesedream have a great idea, maybe that’s the problem. replace in app/design/frontend/default/default/etc/config.xml utf8 to utf-8
and also in app/design/adminhtml/default/default/template/page.phtml replace charset=utf8 to charset=utf-8

See if that helps.

I found out, if i “aktivate” the WYSIWYG-editor TinyMCE inside Magento and put in:

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz-äöüß-ÄÖÜß

The Editor ( TinyMCE ) transforms it into (in the HTML-code):

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz-& auml;& ouml;& uuml;& szlig;-& Auml;& Ouml;& Uuml; (but without the spaces, to show you the way!!!)

... and all german “Umlaute” are OK in the rendered site grin
.
Maybe a good idea, to realize it in the same way ???
.
EDIT
@Moshe

I tried YOUR solution to change the utf8 to utf-8 .......... NOW it’s OK gringringringringringringringringrin
