Hello Everyone!
I’m new to magento, but trying to figure it out, so hope for some help here.

I have such a situation:
I want one skeleton (homepage.phtml) only on homepage, and other skeleton(all.phtml) to apply to the rest of pages.

I tried to follow the designer’s guide, to change everywhere and update, but doesn’t seem to work. I found where to assign a skeleton template as 2columns_left.phtml from the admin section, but don’t know how to do for the rest pages. Although, i did figure it out how to add your custom skeletons to display in CMS Pages section along with other default templates.

I know it is a simple task, but I’m stuck and running in circles.
Thanks

I read that post before posting, and its not quite what I’m searching for.
I just need a way to assign a template to a page.

One template for the home page, and one template for catalog pages.

I create a new skeleton .phtml, then in catalog xml I tried to assign it like:

<reference name="root">
      <
action method="setTemplate"><template>page/2columns-right.phtml</template></action>
</
reference>

But the template for catalog pages isn’t changing!
Hope anyone will point out where I’m going wrong!
Thx

Assign the one you want for the catalog in System > Configuration > General > Design > Themes

Then go to CMS > Manage Pages and assign the home page one to the home page

Does that do what you need it to?
