Hello All

New to the forum and hoping some one can help with this question, I have tried myself but with no joy. Could anyone help with the installation of Magento on a local PC with Xampp please.

Also does anyone now the username and password to login to the demo admin on Magento’s home page.

I would also like to say that from what i have seen so far, that this cart is state of the art in ecommerce, you have done an amazing job so far, it is excellent. And look forward to the final release.

you have the power / right to live
in the future (tomorrow) AND
in the past (I got)
, BOTH ! tongue laugh

On installation using Xampp i receive these errors.

Access denied for user ‘root’@’localhost’ (using password: YES)

So if i leave this password blank i receive this error.

Url “https://localhost:443/magento/” is invalid

These appear on the configuration screen just before create admin account

Unsing Xampp 1.6.3a

Hmmmm!! could anyone help with this please.

Thanks
John

I am happy you took it in a ‘lighter vein’ smile

I did notice your typo
because I am acquainted with a curious characteristic of many Indian languages,
having one single word for tomorrow AND yesterday, BOTH surprised !

Ah! The mysteries of T I M E excaim

Casterdon: I’ve had the same problem like yours when i install Magento. I just changed the https to http and port 443 to 80 then it worked. Not sure if it is ok to do this for a production site or not, but I think it is ok for a test site installed on your desktop.
