What would be the best way be to do a lookup for vehicle specific applications?  Would attributes be a good way to do this or would some type of custom ajax or other integration serve this purpose better?

I am thinking something like the lookup used at http://www.afeproducts.com/IntakeSytemstestold.php if done in Ajax.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

The best way to present this kind of information is by using the Layered Navigation feature. This will allow your users to filter down to exactly the products they need. This functionality is available out of the box with Magento.

Take a look at this screencast for details:

@Sousa, you may want to start a new thread on the “How Do I..” forum for more feedback.
