I was wondering how long does it take to get one of your products?

is there any possible way to list some products on a blog website? That’s what I am thinking for a blog like http://www.gadgetsbing.com/2011/01/win-android-tablet-giveaway-you-can-be-the-one/

We are in process of placing some 55000 simple products with few thousand configurable.
hopeful that site speed will be good.
Waiting for it going live.

One of the sites i’ve worked on had 10000+ products and was running on an inexpensive server, page loads were fine but re-indexing took an absolute age on earlier versions of magento which was a real issue.

Now that this has been addressed on later versions its flying along is even quick to re-index!

I do not think Magento has a limit on the number of products. I just think the problem is the quality of your host. The cheap hosting budget will not - you should look for professional hosting business, perhaps a dedicated server

Running 1.33 million so far on 1.5.0.1 but not without using command line indexer.php and custom command line import script. Headed towards ~7m.

It depends on your hosting provider.

I also recommend to use memcache (or better redis).

Plus read this:

We’re currently running 6 different stores on a single Magento CE 1.5.0.1 installation with a total catalog size of ~1.75 million products. We’re using a Nexcess Magento Enterprise Cluster, MCE-SIP-100 2-Node Cluser to be exact (http://www.nexcess.net/magento-enterprise-hosting). Our websites run great, but I don’t think our Magento installation would be possible without the cluster environment that separates web and DB.

The only problem we’ve encountered is with reindexing. It currently takes 10 hours to reindex (from command line) and for several of those hours, chunks of the catalog are inaccesible which means we have to pause all of our marketing efforts and reindex in the middle of the night.

For anyone that stumbles upon this thread experiencing the same core_url_rewrite reindexing issues I was facing, the free EcomDev extension from the link below solved our problems. We were able to reindex the core_url_rewrite table in 1 hour and 50 minutes using the extension when it used to take us over 5 hours.
