The products all appear to have imported perfectly - but my customer/orders import hangs after 140 customers - I’m not sure why. My OSC install (cre loaded 6.15) does use the latin1 charset - but I’ve checked records 140 and 141 in my OSC database and there aren’t any weird characters that could be causing a hang right there - I’m a bit dumbfounded.  There are a total of 865 customer records.

I read that somebody set their SQL export to UTF-8 for their OSC stuff - but I don’t see how you can run this script with an imported sql file - am I missing something? I just see fields to put your DB info so that it can grab your live stuff.

Anybody else having trouble with customer import? If you have found a solution please do be as detailed as you can as to the settings that helped you! I’ve tried adjusting the charsets in a variety of ways and nothing seems to help. I could try converting the duplicating my OSC DB and then converting the duplicate DB to UTF-8…

I second that. I started only the customer import, and after 68 customers (out of 98) it hung.

I haven’t tried making a copy of database with UTF-8 characterset though.

@mspanish: SQL export is ment to be used to replicate your original OSCommerce database and use that copy for import. If you wanna do that, export OSCommerce database to SQL, then create a new database using the exported data, and when creating OSCommerce import profile, give that new database as source.

I will try to do that, and report the results here.

UTF-8 didn’t help. Since I already have those 68 customers imported, it now stops after reporting that each of the already imported customers can not be added, because email is already in use. Then it just says: “Customers processed 0% 0/98 records” and does nothing more (Page loading status is Done).
However, after I deleted a few users from the copy of the OSCommerce DB, the upload was successfl. I can not say what was wrong with the users I deleted though.
