How can i manualy download the modern theme?

my host doesnt let scripts run for more than 20-30 seconds which isnt long enough for mangento connect to properly work, just gets stopped half way and breaks my magento install.

so what im asking is, what is the url to manually download this so i can upload it my self?

Maybe you should install Magento on a local mirror of your host environment then install whatever you need installed there.

thats one option but seems like a lot of work just to download a file

I would also like to know how to download manually. I have a local test server, am running Magento 1.1 beta… but I can’t do the regular install through the Magento Connect Manager because 1.1 has been excluded. See error message below. Is there a way around this? I have tried updating the Magento Connect Manager > Settings to both alpha and beta, and nothing works.

magento-core/Interface_Frontend_Default_Modern requires package “magento-core/Mage_Core_Modules” (version >= 1.0.19700, version <= 1.1, excluded versions: 1.1), installed version is 1.1.0

I am in the same loop, it would be great to have this template upgraded…

Same here. I can’t seem to install anything through magento connect.

There’s got to be some other way to download this right???

You can obtain the Modern Theme from Subversion

All my pain was due to stupid 777 permissions.

Someone needs to rethink this.

Yes, you will get the whole package of Magento, though it seems a bit extremely just to get a hold of Modern Theme, but the download is very quick.  Just use a SVN client or Shell access; I use Terminals from my Mac for Subversion download.
