Today I did an upgrade from version 1.0 to version 1.1 following the instructions in the Aug 2nd email from Magento “Magento 1.1 Is Here!!!”

Following install of the MagentoConnect Manager I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Mage::setisdevelopermode() in /nfs/c03/h01/mnt/47031/domains/storetest.amorosobaking.com/html/index.php on line 41

Store is now offline and I can not get back to my site admin screens. The site is hosted by Media Temple and is using PHP Version 5.2.6.

In addition the email instructions make reference to “For the Mage_All_Latest package select upgrade” but that is not an option within the MagentoConnect Manager which is why I was trying to upgrade the MagentoConnect Manager to version 1.1.1.

Open index.php in Magento folder and remove the following line:

Thank you!!!  That fixed the problem.

Now my concern is with my current web host, Media Temple (gs) server. After hours of searching the Forums I found this notice in the Wiki…

NOTE (30 July 2008): Magento 1.1 and newer can no longer be run on the Media Temple Grid Server because Magento 1.1.1 requires MySQL 4.1.2 or newer. Media Temple only offers MySQL 4.1.11. Contact Media Temple for further information.

Seems Media Temple (gs) does not support the current update. I notified Media Temple support of the issue, over 20 hours ago, and still have not received a reply.
