Magento 1.1 stable release is scheduled for mid to late July and more information will be made available shortly.

I read this in this blog post.

Magento is mind-bogglingly awesome, but still lacks just a couple very important things.  1.1 will add two of (what I consider to be) the critical features that are still missing: virtual products and a web services API.  But still direly needed is the ability to take back-orders and pre-orders

Please consider a 1.2 release closely following 1.1, with no additions except pre/back-orders.

That’s not going to happen. You’ll see downloadable products before you’ll see this. Many more people need that than what you’re asking for.

Probably late to the game with this one, but a checkout process that doesn’t require Javascript would be brilliant. Any JS solution should have a basic, keyboard navigable fallback, afterall.

Apologies if I’m missed something, I’m new to Magento, seeking a new home from CubeCart (shudder...) and ZenCart (panic...) smile

Back-Orders already exists… check product-inventory in admin.

I am about to jump out of my skin waiting for 1.1.  I am currently testing the latest alpha.  Very cool stuff.

Very impressive!  One item i was hoping for is the configurable product pricing based on the simple product, manageing the _+ is a very big headache for my store.

It appears the bundled products may have the same issue.

Had a quick look at 1.1 alpha as I really need the virtual product feature. The only thing I would like adding to this feature is the ability for it to generate a unique number code for each order in addition to the order number. The reason behind this is we want to use Magento to sell event tickets and this would make that possible.

I’ve been hoping for this feature for quite some time. I posted few messages but received no response. Is there an official word on this? Will this be resolved in 1.1?

Thanx

Is an option to delete order also in this release? or planned for the future?

We would very much like to have this feature because we put in test orders before we go live and would like to remove these order (and their order amount, etc) after we go live. This way, we won’t get a skewed grand total, etc.

It’s been discussed here, but there’s no true solution nor any official word of such a feature yet: http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/1680/

We can’t clear the db tables like the thread suggested because with a multi-store setup, and one store already live, actual orders are already in the db.

So when we want to put in test orders for the 2nd or 3rd store, it is not possible to clear all customer/order related tables anymore because doing it would also remove all actual orders in the live store.

I was playing with the 1.1 trunk for a new template (probably not the latest build as it was downloaded last week), and am unable to access the product page. In the category page, when I click on the thumbnail/learn more, it presents me this errors.

I see that the text.phtml is for the new Custom Option feature; whether I add options or not, I am getting the same error.

Are you running 1.1.x.2?  I’ve found three glitches in that one so far.

- Bundled products give errors on the frontend
- Custom attributes in configurable products are sometimes duplicated on the frontend (I added Color & Size and ended up with 2 of each one, but not on all products even though all were built the same)
- No matter how many times I try to change the # of products show in grid view it inevitably can’t display the page

I haven’t updated the latest Alpha release though, and the first beta release is coming out today.

Hi, where is the beta?  I don’t show anything in my download manager.  As far as I can recall, I am running the second alpha build currently.

thanks,
Nigel

I tried magento-core/Mage_All_Latest in the download manager but got the following problems.

Did not download optional dependencies: pear/XML_RPC, use --alldeps to download automatically
