There is a short tuturial on how to integrate lightbox 1, in a previous version of Magento but the files have been changed and i cant get this lightbox 2 for my images to work.

Is there anyone on this community who knows how to or can find out how to implent Lightbox 2 in Magentocommerce 1.0?

But after following this guide my problem is still not solved: when i click on a image it opens in a new page, see:

Only on the new version, i see the correct method, see:

Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

I had the same problem.  I upgraded prototype.js (js/prototype/prototype.js) to the version included with the lightbox download - 1.6.  I haven’t extensively tested the rest of the site to make sure the upgrade doesn’t break other things, but the upgrade does make lightbox work.

I did those exact steps 1 by 1 and I had absolutely no problem. Tutorial works fine for me.

I’ve gotten this to work fine too, but I believe the instructions on the wiki are not up to date and that I used the info found here: http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/5826/P0/

Towards the bottom of the first page there are good instructions, I believe there is an issue with the most current version of lightbox 2 not working properly and there is a link to download the version that works right.

Is it possible to post some examples of magento web shops that have light box integrated?

That would make it a lot easier to decide if this is a wanted feature? Thanks!

I’m still in development, so I don’t have a url for you, but I feel upgrading to lightbox over the default pop-up box enlarger is the way to go.  Go to the lightbox home page to see the demo and that is how it should work on your magento page.

What is the pro and cons for lightbox vs. the pop-up box enlarger?

I strongly believe that pictures sells more than any words, so I am looking for high quaility product images, and will probably use 600 or 800 pixels with (for me 800 x 800 pixels works great with the pop-up box enlarger).
