I’ve tried to create a coupon that gives free shipping… I think i did everything right but when I try to checkout, it still gives me all the usual shipping methods - but none are free… Anyone knows what i might be doing wrong or is this a bug ??

ps: im using configurable products if that can help

Thx for the help ... but that doesn’t really solve my problem. What I am trying to do is set up a “Promotions/Shopping Cart Rules” where I enable free shipping for a defined coupon. This just doesn’t seem to work. However, I am able to put a discount on the order, but no free shipping....

True, I’ve seen nothing in the release notes to say that shopping cart rules have actually been implemented yet.

1. Make sure that in Admin > Configuration > Shipping Methods > [Your Enabled Shipping Methods] > Free Method - has correct values.
2. Did you choose Free Shipping = For matching items only or For shipment with matching items ?

I have the same problem.  I want to add a Shopping Cart Price Rule with some rules and then offer a free shipping deal. I have tried the both options For matching items only and For shipment with matching items it didn’t work.

What am I doing wrong?

I took up sysk’s part in our project and still, the free shipping isn’t working.

The problem is, I believe, is the custom shipping modules we developed.

The only thing I can find in the prebuilt modules that are related to free shipping is free methods.

The problem is, we don’t have methods inside our custom modules. That’s why we built 4 different carriers cause we needed 4 different prices.

Anyone has a clue ?

I’m going to try something with the free methods meanwhile!

has anyone had any joy with this? I need to give free shipping on all orders over £50. Iv got it working so that the option is given in the checkout when the order is over £50 but I also need this integrating with google checkout. I can get other coupons working with google but the shipping seems to be calculated after the cart and so doesnt get passed to google.

Idealy for me the shipping would be calculated and displayed within the shopping cart as the other coupons are and then all this information would be passed to google. Also I would like it so that free shipping is automatically chosen if the order is over £50 rather than the user having to select this.

Hi, i have a similar problem.

I want to setup free shipping only for light items.

This is what i did :

1) I set all the items which enjoy free shipping with a particular SKU, let say 001 FS, 002 FS, 003 FS…
So all the items with an FS extension should enjoy free shipping.

2) in the shopping cart rule, i set my conditions :

If ANY (or ALL - i try both) of these conditions are TRUE :

* If an item is FOUND in the cart with ANY (or ALL) of these conditions true:
o SKU contains FS [Apply]

3) then i set my action :
0 everywhere and for free shipping : ‘For matching items only’

I think eveything is alright, but it doesn’t work.
if, instead of free shipping i set a 5$ discount, it works perfectly.

Is anything wrong in my procedure ?
