You will need to edit your crontab and add similar line:
*/ 5 * * * * / absolute / path / to / php5 - f / absolute / path / to / magento / cron . php
*/5 means that magento’s cron processor will be invoked every 5 minutes - can be fine tuned.

could you possibly go further on this? ... not entirely sure where to edit the cron.php file?

What they are saying is that you need to add an entry to your cron tab that runs cron.php every 5 minutes.
This can usually be done in your hosting control panel.

i have set up the cron job now ... thanks for that ... but i get an error report saying:
Could not open input file:
/home/aronline/public_htm/relaxrestandplay.com/store/cron.php

Have you tried setting the permissions to 777 on it?
