I have spent days as well as my host trying to figure out my Paypal and Google errors.
If anyone is having the same issues or has fixed the issue please reply
Here’s the situaltion,
A. The problem
Both PayPal and Google are giving me errors when attempting to check out.
1. Google-
a. Google Checkout: Invalid response from Google Checkout server ( see attachment )
b. myphpadmin - doesn’t look right ( I am not an expert at this, so I may be wrong)
1. in core_config_google lines 135 and 136 do not match that was place in admin fields (see attachment )
2. in line 136- google/checkout/merchant_key shows different key than entered and has == at end of key which
was not added on my part
2. PayPal-/
a. There was an error connecting to the Paypal server:
1. The api looks correct in myphpadmin but does have == at end
B. Steps Taken & FAQ’S after error discovered
1. ALL PAYPAL/GOOGLE entries were inserted (via- copy & paste) and copied directly from GOOGLE/PAYPAL sites.
2. ALL entires were made in the ADMIN only- NO changes were made to the DATABASE
3. An origional quick SSL was replaced with a 128 Bit SSL
4. A new hosting account and install was opened to try to resolve this error to no avail. Errors still exist
5. SandBox and live GOOGLE/PAYPAL accounts tried and BOTH failed to work
6. Searched Forums and all other means of suppport relentlessly ( only found old post with no solutions)
7. Have drove my host support crazy on this and have contacted Varion (no reply )
As far as debugging ect… that’s something thats a little out of my area and if someone who replies would like specific information please feel free to ask in VERY LAYMAN’S terms and I will be happy to provide you with any information I am capable of finding.
Observation:
I have not seen to many recent post about this and none have included a solution or cause. I know not everyone is using
PAYPAL and GOOGLE but surely there must be others who are having this problem or who have had this issue.
Although it may seem like a Magento issue, I am open and very speculative that it may be related to the SSL or may be
something very simple, however my host and I have failed to identify the issue or where it is origionating from. My host
has working magento clients with LIVE stores all runnning with no issues that they are aware of, and this is the first time
they have encountered this problem. ( LUCKY ME!)
I have more sreen prints of php admin and Magento admin screens to document the problem available if requested.

The only thing i can answer right now is that all merchant account user names and passwords are encrypted in database using encryption key you have entered during installation, and saved in app/etc/local.xml, and that’s why they are different from entered values.
There’s something wrong with your screenshots, they’re blurry on safari and IE and firefox can’t even open them, so i couldn’t see the google checkout error message on the first screenshot.
The 3rd screenshot shows that Magento could not save response from google checkout, so to debug this i’d need to see the raw traffic between your host and google.
I re-uploaded GOOGLE and PAYPAL screens, they are large so click them once to get them full size.

How can I send this to you- or give you access to it...Please let me know, as it is something I haven’t done before
