Hi, great application, can’t wait to get live on my site, the only thing is that because I operate a ‘closed’ trade only site I need to be able to:

A) Hide my prices until the customer logs in

and

B)Admin needs to control the registration process by preventing automatic activation of new accounts, activation can only be completed by the admin once signup has been made

My current OSCommerce site allows users to sign up but not login/shop/see prices until admin has authorised account.

Please can you advise

Try this:

Set the prices to ‘Suggested Retail Price’ and then add ‘tier prices’ that are only visible to the wholesale group.

If you setup a tier for quantity=1 then your valued B2B customers will see their price and the SRP. You can also setup different tiers, visible to different customers, e.g. one rate for ‘stockists’ and another for ‘dealers’.

If you need to restrict certain dealers from seeing products then you can setup a new store to service just those products, with a different ‘basket’ but going to the same email address.

Since you have to manually add customers to the wholesale group this method should enable you to manage your customers.

Another store view can be added if you need a consumer showcase that does not have ‘add to cart’.

Good idea Discovery but this relys on the admin adding every customer by hand and showing some kind of price, I would prefer to stop any price from being shown.

I will see if I can sort a work round.

I tried doing retail as main price and then selected my store and wholesale group for tiered pricing, but the tiers don’t show up OR work when I add to cart.  Is there some special way to make them show?

I logged in as a wholesale customer - Do I need to do something else to get tiered price to show up and work?

I have the exact same needs as well, as you mentioned, hiding prices from any visitors who are not logged in, and having the final say when a visitor tries to register as a customer. Help, Magento developers!

Always the same need for me too…

For point B, i need to be able to allow or not a membersip ask, so i my mind (i’m not a programmer) it seems to allow extension in various status for internaut :
i mean :
“ask” for membership and as a decision is not taken, something should alert the administrator
“allowed member”
“refused member”

I hope this point would be on the roadmap and soon available ))
