Magento

Hello,
my Task is to create a shop site with a 100% flash frontend and now I am looking for the right shop system to use. I am not a big fan of osCommerce and its clones for their inflexibility and overcome programming paradigm so I was happy to hear from magento.
I am asking myself now if it is the right system to use. I would like to use the shop features with Flash Remoting or XML-RPC. Is it possible to connect to magento’s shop logic with custom tailored functions? Just how flexible is magento?
Would be great if you could answer me this.

your looking at rewriting or extending the entire interface codebase… not to mention the hurdles to overcome with SSL transactions…

@tinytiger: Yes it is! The company I work for is doing that very thing right now. 100% flash front, 100% Magento back. In fact, all you have to do is create a new interface, then switch your .phtml templates from html content to xml. Then, tell your controllers to send xml headers instead of html. I am currently working on a tutorial to create custom modules, as a followup for the wiki article : Basic Magento Directory Overview. If you are still interested in this, I can follow that one with how to configure Magento for flash front ends. If you want to know, please request it, if your question just needed a simple yes or no, I wont trouble myself.

Thank you for the reply, right now I jut want to know if its possible because the project its still in its planning phase. Frankly i dont know another Shop System to use but Magento for this taks so i am hapyy to hear that it is possible. I would be interested in anything you can tell me about that topic so please keep me informed if possible.
