I have no idea - I’d recommend asking your host; mine made the change for me

Each time I go through the process, and it gets messed up, I end up having to delete everything and completely re-installing. Is there an easier way to reset everything? Like deleting a config file or something?

I checked with my host, and they say the CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES is enabled by default.

So then, I’ve changed the order of the table creation in the file, I’ve got temporary tables enabled.

Any other ideas?

When installation failed for me I just deleted these and started again;

app/etc/local.xml
var/cache
var/session

+ clear the mySQL database

I just got this exact same error on a fresh install of the latest 1.0 on a fresh install of linux, i just installed php 5.2.5 apache and mysql.

Same problem, same SQL file.

Seems that this one comes first

Error in file: “/home/user/public_html/magento/app/code/core/Mage/Customer/sql/customer_setup/mysql4-install-0.8.0.php” - Wrong entity ID

Then this one over and over:
Error in file: “/home/user/public_html/magento/app/code/core/Mage/Customer/sql/customer_setup/mysql4-install-0.8.0.php” - SQLSTATE[42S01]: Base table or view already exists: 1050 Table ‘customer_address_entity’ already exists
