Magento

I wanted to check out the beta version of Magento but my current host is supporting PHP 5.1.4 with all the required extensions.

Has anyone tried to run it in this version or knows if it will run at all. Just wanted to check before I upload it.

PHP version 5.2.0 or newer is required.
But you can try to use the solution for PHP 4 - please check the Installing Magento on a PHP4 server KB article.

Turns out that my host did upgrade to 5.2.5 but for some reason when I pulled up the PHP version displayed at 5.1.4 They swear it will work so I am uploading it.

Do you know of a program the can unzip the application on the server side instead of unzipping on the PC and then uploading, it takes forever to toad up the 30 mb.
