Hi
Is it possible to obtain a copy of Magento with a catalogue of products already installed , like the one in the demo http://demo.magentocommerce.com/ ? I would love to be able download a copy with a catalog already installed.

Did you try to install sample data before or after the initial installation?
You have to install sample data before the installation, or to run installation one more time after you installed sample data.

I successfully installed 0.8.1600(thanks to Bradgman and RoyRubin for their instructions). I downloaded the sample data and copied the catalog and upload folders to media folder. what should I do next. Thanx

There is also a sql file.
Update you DB with it, and then run the install of the Magento one more time.
