Basically all i want to do is to take off the Telescope theme banner on the right side. How would i go about doing this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I’ve installed the telescope theme but it only shows 5 featured products. How can i increase the number of products shown on the home page ? I’ve tried editing the homepage.phtml file but it doesn’t change anything.
