Bio

See “TinyMCE the Magento Way” in the Wiki - http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/wysiwyg/tinymce_wysiwyg_the_magento_way

My name is Jim Bova. Professionally, I am the lead developer and sytems/network admin at Dssco.net. It is a family business that began as an ISP with dial-up Internet access and web hosting in 1999. At one time we provided Internet access to about 12,000 customers in Pennsylvania. As Cable and DSL moved in, we sold the dial-up portion of the business, which was known as Losch Internet Services.

Since then, we’ve focused on Xen VPS, Linux web hosting, MySQL database hosting, and the like. We develop custom web applications and deploy custom sites based on open source solutions like Magento, Drupal, etc…

I enjoy coding and would do it full time for fun, even if I never had to work another day in my life.

Personally, I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities. I also compete professionally as a mixed martial arts fighter. The high point of that career came in May of 2008 when I competed on the undercard of EliteXC Primetime. For those interested in the sport of MMA, I created our team web site at http://www.anthracitecc.com , which runs on Drupal.

Some of the latest Magento sites I have under development are listed below:

http://www.platformnyc.com
http://www.tillyandme.com
http://www.zanshinproducts.net
http://www.yipeeee.com
http://shop.zanottimotor.com ( well, not Magento anymore )

I’ll be completing the migration of the sites built on our own e-commerce and CMS platfrom written in mod_perl to Magento. Some of these include http://www.cherylynndesigns.net and http://www.candlesfromthehill.com. Magento offers so much more than I could ever develop on my own. However, I will miss how tightly our e-commerce system integrated with our CMS, as Magento currently lacks a functional CMS.
