Video: Alexander Ringsdorff, CEO of Visions at Mage::Camp
My name is Alexander Ringsdorff, CEO of Visions. We are an enterprise partner of Magento in Germany. We are working on large Magento projects and already have released some of them. Today we are here at the last day of the Mage::Camp; a three day event in London. It was a great success and a lot of people were interested in Magento. We are talking to a lot of people and new developers who are working within the UK already, and also a lot of companies evaluating the Magento ecommerce platform.
Enterprise Edition
The product support, guarantee and commercial license was something our customers were asking and waiting for. We found that there was a very positive effect when we told them that there is an enterprise edition now with a very flexible license available that gives them the freedom to work on the differentiators they need and based on the core, the same open source core of the community edition. The feedback that we got was very positive. And all our new projects we are working on right now will start on the enterprise edition.
Projects
As you know, we finished the Mydeco project. Mydeco is now in the second phase, which will go live early next week.
We also recently released Jack Wolfskin in Germany working with Globetrotter. Globetrotter is Europe’s largest outdoor retailer. They run a custom e-commerce solution right now and will relaunch their shop with Magento early next year together with integrating SAP internally as ERP system. So this is a very exciting Magento project, and I guess the largest in Germany so far.
We are also producing a hotel booking site based on Magento for a company called Que Hoteles. We are connecting Magento to the legacy booking system and realized a really unique hotel booking site where you can, for example, book many stays at one time. A user can purchase a stay in Malaga, another in Barcelona, and then just run through the checkout once and have all of your journey booked. So this is a good example of how flexible Magento is and how you can use it for even very customized business cases.
