Los Angeles, CA—October 20, 2009—Varien, the Magento company, announced today the Version 1.6 release of the Magento Enterprise Edition eCommerce platform. The new release features enhancements and new functionality focusing on Content Management tools, targeted marketing capabilities and integration with back-office accounting suites.

Magento Enterprise Edition Version 1.6 features the all new CMS+ Content Management Engine, a Rich Merchandizing Suite and integration with world class accounting software packages via middleware provided by the BridgeConnect module, and more. Magento’s CMS+ Content Management Engine opens doors to creation, management and publishing of complex content pages by business users with no technical knowledge. The CMS+ Content Management Engine also introduces Magento Widgets, a highly innovative new feature which enables business users to easily add dynamic content to pages in Magento Stores, greatly reducing the time to market for deploying live on Magento.
The Rich Merchandizing Suite enables highly effective targeting of customers by allowing customer segmentation and targeted marketing and merchandising of products. Using targeted customer segmentation merchants can optimize marketing initiatives by identifying specific customers by characteristics such as purchase history, browsing history, items in wishlists and much more. Merchants can personalize the customer experience and increase conversions, by providing targeted, rules-driven promotional marketing banners/creatives tailored to each customer segment. Using effective, targeted merchandising, merchants now have the resources to increase sales and average order value (AOV) by suggesting products for customers.
Magento Enterprise Edition Version 1.6 now includes the BridgeConnect module which enables integration with world class accounting packages, from vendors such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Intuit and Sage through a partnership with eBridge Software. Enabling back-office systems to communicate in an automated fashion with Magento gives merchants the complete control and flexibility needed to make sure their business operation functions as smoothly as their Magento shop, allowing for growth online to contribute to growth through other channels as well.
