A new Magento record! 2mb+ front page!
I think all developers considering using Magento need to do two things:
1) If an existing store, check your analytics software and see how many customers are still using dial up (you’ll be surprised).
2) Try surfing any of these demos or launches on dialup or even just a base DSL account with only 512kb or 768kb down. Afterwards you’ll be working overtime to squeeze each and kb out of the page size.
At least the prototype/js package was reduced to 55k.
