Meet Magento UK 2011 - Magento Took London By Storm
On Wednesday, October 26, Meet Magento UK took place in London to a sold out, standing room only crowd. Over 400 attendees stormed the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre eagerly awaiting the first ever Magento event in Britain.
Industry Partner Meeting & Solution Partner Summit
The Magento week actually started on Tuesday, October 25 with an informational session on the Magento Industy Partner program and a special summit for all UK Solution Partners. The summit featured interactive discussions between Magento management and partners, and allowed them to provide important feedback.
Magento Keynotes & Exciting Content
The Meet Magento program kicked off with an opening keynote, from Magento Co-Founder Roy Rubin who spoke about Magento milestones, the eBay acquisition and the future of commerce through X.commerce. Roy also gave insight into Magento products like the new Magento Connect, plans for Magento 2.0, Training and Certification. Roy also announced the newest solution, Magento Enterprise Premium Package.
Over 15 speakers presented on the latest topics and current trends around the Magento ecosystem. The in-depth program offered various case studies, interesting presentations for merchants about customer loyalty and conversion rates and panel discussions for developers, with lots of tips for performance issues. If you missed any of the speakers, be sure to download the presentations from the website.
Magento is Here to Stay
Throughout the day the conference was buzzing with merchants, developers, partners and over 15 sponsors exhibiting their products and services. It was evident that the UK is a huge and growing market with incredible opportunity for Magento and our ecosystem. Roy Rubin said it best: “The question isn’t ‘Why are we here?’ But rather ‘What took us so long?’ One thing is for certain - Magento is here today and we are here to stay!”
In true Meet Magento fashion, the conference ended with the legendary after show party at the vibrant Namco Station. Attendees took the opportunity to relax and network with the Magento leadership team, while bowling, riding bumper cars and playing video games all night.
