Magento Version 1.0.19870 Available for Download
We are pleased to announce the availability for download of Magento Version 1.0.19870. This version includes enhancements and bug fixes, which are detailed in the release notes. Upgrading to this version from 1.0.19700 will resolve the issue that this patch was issued for as well.
*Please Note: Instructions for Upgrading Magento with a full package, via SVN, via the MagentoConnect Manager and using SSH shell access are available in this wiki post.
Please read the wiki before upgrading.
If you are using the Magento Connect (PEAR Packages) we also recommend upgrading the Magento Connect Manager here

Question for guys at Magento—If we have already installed the patch and don’t feel this upgrade is necessary for us, is it OK to skip it or will that possible make it more difficult to upgrade to the next version that comes out after this?
2YoavKutner |posted 4 days ago
@ryanb - since the packages are over-writing the code there should not be an issue to skip a version. Although we only test upgrading from the latest version we do not guarantee upgrading from older versions.
Thanks
yoav

@ryanb: You can skip it, unless you are unhappy with the other bugs we have provided fixes for. It’s up to you, just review the release notes carefully.

If you’re doing this via Magento Connect (not sure why you would want to do it any other way), upgrade Magento Connect first and then only Mage_All_Latest.
I tried to upgrade all at once and got an error, but Mage_All_Latest will upgrade everything else.

It doesn’t work if you have modern template installed.
The modern template accept only the previous version,i get this error when upgrading :
“magento-core/interface_frontend_default_modern requires package “magento-core/Mage_Core_Modules” (version >= 1.0.19700, version <= 1.0.19700), downloaded version is 1.0.19870
magento-core/Mage_Core_Modules cannot be installed, conflicts with installed packages”.

I have a little issues with the upgrade :
ERROR: bad md5sum for file /*****/app/code/core/Mage/Directory/Block/Adminhtml/Frontend/Currency/Base.php
ERROR: bad md5sum for file /***/app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Cms/Page/Edit/Form.php

in fact I can’t upgrade using Magento downloader.
I’ve tried to upgrade Mage_Core_Adminhtml and Mage_Core_Modules, got the MD5sum issues, Mage_Core_Adminhtml alone which works, and then Mage_Core_Modules but I got the what was reported by 00christian00.

I tried to update via PEAR packages, when I add the extension key, no update available (i keep 1.0.19700 version)
Is it available for download through Magento Connect ?
10sherrie from Normal, Illinois|posted 3 days ago
It is available through Magento connect, but as mentioned above I can only upload Mage_Core_adminhtml, it wont let me upload Mage_Core_Modules. I get this error:
magento-core/interface_frontend_default_modern requires package “magento-core/Mage_Core_Modules” (version >= 1.0.19700, version <= 1.0.19700), downloaded version is 1.0.19870
magento-core/Mage_Core_Modules cannot be installed, conflicts with installed packages
Install Errors

@00christian00 - We are working on a new package for the modern theme. It should be made available any time now and we will update as soon as it is ready.

I think the download links point to the wrong file. (patch to 1.0.19700)
22Michael |posted 15 hours ago
@ArthurDent: What link do you mean? In order to download Magento please go to Downloads -> Download Magento (in the top menu) page, select the format you want and click ‘Download Now’ button.
23ArthurDent |posted 14 hours ago
@Michael: it was my mistake because I thought it was a patch from 1.0.9700 to 1.0.9870.
