Congratulations Magento Imagine Challenge Winners!

Last month we announced the Show Us Your Magento Passion Challenge to award members of the Magento Community with free and discounted travel and admission to the Magento Imagine eCommerce Conference. The contest was also a good way to showcase the creative talents of the Magento Community.

When we first decided to run this contest, we wondered what kind of response we might get. We launched the contest on short notice in that time between Christmas and New Years when everyone and everything shuts down. We never "imagined" that we'd get the kind of response that we did. Not only did the volume of submissions and votes amaze us, but the the quality and creativity demonstrated by the Magento Community in these photo and video entries just blew us away. The video submissions were very popular around Magento's LA headquarters, and at any given time you could hear one of the videos playing on someone's computer in the background, and at times blasting in the conference room during meetings and conferences. I think this contest is just another example highlighting the strength, quality and passion of the Magento Community.

We received over 55 entries! Which is great,considering the small amount of time that we had to work with. Those entries gained 9,236 Visits, 24,036 Views, 3,633 Votes!

Grand Prize Winner

Congratulations to Ron Schmelzer - who's entry "Even a Kid Thinks Magento is Great" eared him the grand prize with 790 votes

Ron really worked hard for his 790 votes, even creating a FAN page for his entry on Facebook comprised of friends and family who pushed his vote to the top! Ron will be joining us in Los Angeles for the Imagine eCommerce Worldwide Conference in Los Angeles, February 7 - February 9th. Along with complementary registration, and 2 nights hotel accommodations at the Hilton - Ron will be receiving an American Express gift card worth $500.00 toward his travel expenses. Congratulations Ron!

1st Prize Winner

Congratulations Nori Yoshida who's entry "Should Lenny go to Magento Imagine?" which earned him 343 votes!

We never imagined there would be a commercial for the Imagine eCommerce Conference, and this video was exactly that! Watch as one bear tries to convince Lenny why he should go to Imagine! Lenny makes all the typical excuses, but looks like Lenny is coming after all. Congratulations Nori, on your winning entry!
