I found a typo / error in your list.

“ Print invoices and packing slips (packing slips? “

I think the person making this list does not know what a packing list it.......

I know it’s hard to tell but any idea of ballpark date for when downloadable products will be supported? If it’s still a possible feature should it not still feature on the roadmap at least?

@Roy. I just checked the List of Features and it looks excellent. Magento is definitively going to rock the eCommerce scene.
    Congrats on the great job.

    Greven,

Thanks for pointing that out, it was actually a note from when we were going through and noting elements we had left off the list.

@Dave Smith - Timeframe - not yet. Downloadable / Virtual products are at the very top of our list. This is a very important feature and we hope to have it available as soon as possible.

@SeoMexFan - Thanks as always for the great comments smile

Thanks for the updated feature list.  I see that the oscommerce import is still on the roadmap but it’s not on the feature list.  Can we still expect this before the production release?

    11RoyRubin from Los Angeles, CA|posted March 4 2008

@peter83 - yes. osCommerce import is a go at this time.

Will the osCommerce import tool also import from CreLoaded?

Update of the features was timely and looks neat.BTW why are some of the features highlighted in yellow?

  15. RoyRubin

    15RoyRubin from Los Angeles, CA|posted March 5 2008

@srinigenie - The list is obviously extensive. We wanted to highlight some of the more unique features Magento has to offer to those that wish to quickly glance.

@Garrone - Soon - in the next few days.

    Ok - I feel a bit “ignored” there…

Will the import tool for OSCommerce also import CreLoaded sites since the CreLoaded plateform is based off of the OSCommerce platform?

  18. YoavKutner

    18YoavKutner |posted March 6 2008

@Baybee - once the OSC import module is done. we can test it on CRELoaded.

I cannot guarantee that OSC import will work exactly for CREL but I am sure very minor tweaks will be needed for it to work.

    Thanks

Thank you, Yoav.  There are database differences between the two, but I have full confidence the Magento team will work it out.  That is all I need to start getting ready to do a complete transfer of both my stores.  Thank you again!

Not to nitpick, but isn’t that graphic next to “shipping” on the top of the page stolen from apples mail.app??

  21. RoyRubin

    21RoyRubin from Los Angeles, CA|posted March 6 2008

@markf - It’s probably part of the iconset we used. We don’t steal graphics.

  22. markf

    22markf |posted March 6 2008

Im sure it wasn’t intentional, but that is apples mail icon.  check for yourself…

  23. Baybee

    23Baybee from North Carolina|posted March 6 2008

Sometimes icon sets are public domain and can be used by anyone.  So maybe apple is using a public domain icon set too…

  24. adimagento

    24adimagento from Los Angeles, CA|posted March 6 2008

@markf - many of the icons we use across the site were made by the same designer that contributes to Apple projects. They are available for purchase by the entire web community.

can’t wait for the production release, but could you tell me please:  when can we expect USPS and Canada Post integration?  is that on the roadmap at all?

  26. mjeebu

    26mjeebu |posted March 6 2008

also...are customer emails HTML based or just text based?  i.e.  are the emails sent to customers when they place an order, and also status updates HTML-based emails?

  27. srinigenie

    27srinigenie |posted March 8 2008

The old feature list/roadmap had non-JS checkout as part of it and now I find that missing. Is that intentional?

    Hello Roy,

My partners and me were planning to start building the new website around Magento beginning of April. Downloadable Products is a absolute must though! We can manage to postpone the project for a month, but if Downloadable items are not supported by then we will have to move to another solution. So, Roy will Magento feature Downloadable Products by the end of April or should we start looking for another solution right now? A feedback is much apprieciated!

    Cheers, Pädy

  29. RoyRubin

    29RoyRubin from Los Angeles, CA|posted March 9 2008

@Pädy - We are unable to publish any dates for specific functionality. As soon as it is ready we will it make publicly available. You can always choose to develop this on your own if you are in a time crunch.

@srinigenie - The feature list is what can be expected for v.1. The roadmap will be updated as soon as we have time to catch up.

hi RoyRubin.....not feeling any love over here.  rolleyes
are the emails html-based?  and is Canada Post integration available, please?

  31. Pädy

    31Pädy |posted March 9 2008

@ Roy: I guess we can delevelop this ourselves, but we will probably run into problems as soon as we want to update to a new release - but I’m not the developer. Anyway, I know it’s the usual business not to communicate time tables for feature updates, but this very case deserves an exception in my humble opinion.

@mjeebu - See my comment(s) above - they are relevant to your question. The transactional emails are HTML based.

@Pädy - As soon as we have a better idea we’ll post it.
