Customer Feedback with Kampyle and Magento
Every online merchant wants to know what users do on his site, why they do it, and how they feel about it. While also being a source of many advantages, the fact that there is no direct contact with the customer in e-commerce also makes it vulnerable: How can you know why you are losing clients? What can you do to increase conversion rates, as well as customer satisfaction and loyalty? How can you know that your customers are happy?
The Kampyle Solution
Kampyle helps you to collect, analyze, and manage feedback submitted by your users in an efficient, user friendly and time saving interface. The product allows you to listen to your customers, learn what they need, act on it, and get back to them, letting them know that their voice has been heard.
Kampyle allows you to:
- Create different feedback forms for different locations of your website with specific questions for each page.
- Get user feedback in a non-intrusive way, combined with more pro-active methods in specific situations such as shopping cart abandonment.
- Benefit from a unique combination of a Voice of Customer application’s high level view, along with CRM capabilities that let you correct and improve your service and get back to your customers.
- Using Kampyle’s push mechanism, you can actively ask 100% of your customers for feedback in your shopping carts, and only 30% in pages with lower sales impact.
- Mash-up integration with Google Analytics and other Web Analytics Vendors
- ...and much more.
Kampyle and Magento
Implementing Kampyle on Magento is easy, and consists of copying a pasting javascript code. Simply select System -> Configuration -> Design -> Footer -> Misc. HTML and the paste the code as supplied when opening the Kampyle account.

Just want to say that it really work and it’s really great.
Just a precision : You need to implement the first part of code given by kampyle in order to have the button correctly positionned.
Just edit app>design>frontend>default>{skin}>template>page>html>head.phtml and place the code.
I recommand using the https code if you’re using ssl on your site.
Thanks Kampyle and Magento.

Thanks, but this means that what they said in the blog post above:
“Implementing Kampyle on Magento is easy, and consists of copying a pasting javascript code”
is incorrect. There are two pieces of code, and a template has to be edited too. Kindly clarify this in the blog post.

I can get it to work (with floating image and all) if not selecting the check box for use on secure pages. However, if you use this option and have secure pages you get “Warning: Contains unauthenticated content” on those pages which is not something you want to have.
When I use the check box for secure pages on the Kampyle site the floating image does not appear and the only thing that is there is a link at the bottom of the page. It seems that the directories for the images change depending on whether you use the SSL check box or not.
For example in the secure code of the header file you find this “images_dir”: “/images/” where in the unsecure version of the code you find “images_dir”: “http://cf.kampyle.com/”
The same thing occurs in the “footer” file. Perhaps that is the cause for the image not showing up when the SSL box is checked? Hope you guys can clear this up.

Hi,
Lisali: indeed, Kampyle implementation requires copying the Kampyle code to Magento template. The code is composed of 2 sections that need to be copied. If you require any assistance at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us ()
Len3121: As it is stated in the page itself, If you check the SSL checkbox, you must also copy all the files to your server, So, the image, js and css files will be locally hosted on your server. this is probably why hese problems occured. we will be happy to assist you in an way that we can.
thank you,
the Kampyle team

Hi,
As it’s not that easy to implement Kampyle as the blog post above suggest - how about releasing an extension for Magento?
Thanks

Hi
i have copied the first piece of Kampyle code into app>design>frontend>default>{skin}>template>page>html>head.phtml as sugested above. And the second code into System -> Configuration -> Design -> Footer -> Miscellaneous HTML
The feedback button does not appear on the page. I have checked the rendered html of my page and seems that the second peice of Kampyle code is not there. Anything i put into Miscellaneous HTML box is not rendered. Any sugestions?
I am on Magento 1.8 and tried both default theme and our custom themes.
Thanks in advance

Is there an alternative to replacing all of the files in ‘custom template’? If I do this, I think it’s going to hose my custom design.

Kampyle is NO LONGER FREE and the new prices are pretty outrageous...Disappointing!
16wsj3 from Portland, OR|posted March 18 2009
Hmmmm. I haven’t received any notice to pay yet. I’d just like to get it working. It’s definitely not easy to install on Magento.
17Kampyle |posted March 19 2009
Hi Lisali,
Kampyle is still a free service, and website owners can still register and use our “free to try” service package which is not limited in time. In addition, we have launched our premium Service Packages which are paid services, and contain advanced features and functionalities.
Thank you,
The Kampyle Team

With the “free” service, you only get to see 25 feedback items/month. Time to check out some self-hosted solutions or GetSatisfacton.
Thanks!

I just wanted to let anyone considering Kampyle know that it is a great service product. I’m really impressed. Kampyle, please create a Magento Connect Module, so people don’t have the install headaches I’ve had with https.
