Outstanding work! That basically sums it up. Having worked with eCommerce for more than 10 years and having been the head of Northern Europe’s largest eCommerce solution provider, I am in awe of this exceptionally outstanding product. It boggles my mind how fast you guys have actually been able to create such a current (and beyond!) piece of software and even keep it in a design category - both frontend and backend - that blows the competition away.

From where I’m sitting I wondering right now if this is not going to be the benchmark for what is to come. I think it is.

Well done. I know this is hard work - a pride thing as well. But let me tell you that it was worth it. Bravo!

I just wanted to give you guys some feedback on how amazing your product is. I’ve been a Zen Cart/OS Commerce developer for 5 years and have worked in e-commerce my entire career. I’ve downloaded Magento and gave it a test run and I cannot say how impressed I am with it. From an SEO standpoint it’s amazing. From a usability standpoint it’s fantastic. Navigation is great, looks are great. I will start switching all my customers and my sites to Magento thanks to this wonderful product.

I’ve never seen another platform so well architected */AND/* well designed as Magento, its simply amazing; they’ve done everything right! I have run several eCommerce businesses in the past.  One of the biggest problems is dealing with an open source community, paying too much for a pay cart only to find out the pay cart is based on that open commerce one that you hate, and dealing with foreign languages.  In addition to that, they all template differently, and you have limited features and functionality.

Well, say GOODBYE to all of those problems!

Magento does have a lot of features and flexibility that put most commercial products to shame. The marketing promotions manager - I was drooling on my keyboard at the flexibility! It seems that no matter what tool I use, the marketing managers always dream up some promotion that can’t be done. Well, I challenge them: come up with a promotion that Magento can’t do! I’m not saying it’s unlimited, but it’s the best I’ve seen.

I am a real fan of Open Source software, and there are some great projects around, however up till now the e-commerce category has missed out.  Nearly all of the open-source e-commerce systems I have checked out are just big piles of spaghetti code, that not only make development and maintenance of online shops a headache, I consider them to be grave security risks.

Magento has actually been designed - that has got to count for something!  While with other projects I wince when I look under the hood, with Magento I am being pleasantly surprised by each new aspect I look at.  In fact, I think there is a lot I can learn from this well implemented system.  It is now only a preview release, and it is already light-years ahead.
