The Magento Issue Roadmap provides insight into the status and progress of issues (as reported by the community and core team) by release. You can find the Issue Roadmap under the Community tab.
Please note that release dates will not be published until they are final.
Disclaimer: We are committed to providing the best eCommerce solution possible, and this issue roadmap is intended to keep our users up-to-date on where Magento is and where it’s going. This commitment to transparency extends to any changes we may have to make to the roadmap. Although we’re committed to meeting every goal on the Roadmap, priorities can change and issues may be moved to later releases. We know how important these issues are to merchants, but we advise you to not make any serious business decisions based on an unreleased issue or feature.
A couple weeks back we asked the Magento Community to submit questions to the Magento Team. With the help of Andrew Warner from Mixergy, we recently sat down to answer them. From product to community, we discuss some of the inner workings and provide insight to burning topics in this 20 minute video:
We have just released a few new translation features to make the translation process even easier and faster than before.
Added Interface and theme support. From today on the Modern theme (and any other theme to follow) can be downloaded and translated separately, or as part of the full package.
Moderators now have the ability to make translations available through Magento Connect. In one click they will be able to create/update translation extensions available for download in Magento Connect.
Un-translated strings can now be filtered in the strings list.
Added the ability to flag translation strings as “Same as Original”, and this way achieve the 100.00% desirable translations status.
All Email Templates are available now as part of the translation package.
If you’d like to get involved or don’t see your locale listed or if you have any problems or suggestions for the new tools, please contact us.
We’ve just added a chat feature to the Magento community site to further encourage communication within our community. You can find the chat page at MagentoCommerce.com/Chat (and within the community menu).
Please note that this version is not recommended in any way to be used in a production environment and that we do not guarantee that any of the functionality or code will be made available in future stable releases of Magento.
This powerful in-line tool allows to work on a live interface and create translations, or suggest alternatives to existing translations. Translations can now be voted on as well and the moderators will be able to select the most appropriate suggestion.
There are now 3 ways to translate your language:
Translate strings broken down by module via our Full String List tool
Use the in-line translation live interface (much like the in-line translation tool on a local installation of Magento), to add and vote for suggestions.
Download the complete package.
We will soon add the ability for moderators to make the translations available through Magento Connect.
If you’d like to get involved or don’t see your locale listed or if you have any problems or suggestions for the new tool, please contact us.
