Update: Magento’s Imagine eCommerce Conference

image

Planning is well underway for Imagine 2.0 and I wanted to take a moment to both give you an update and introduce myself.  I joined Magento in late 2010 as the Manager of Global Events, my first assignment was Imagine 1.0, and since than I have been working at a very fast pace with our wonderful team to produce events and community activities around the world.

The positive response from Magento’s inaugural Imagine eCommerce Conference in Los Angeles has been overwhelming with Imagine being referenced as “one of the leading eCommerce events in the world”. This goes far beyond our execution of the event but speaks to the entrepreneurial and family like spirit of the Magento community, partners and merchants around the world.

You can check out our updated Imagine website which features fantastic videos of keynote and breakout speakers, presentations and photos!

We know many of you are eager to hear the details about the next Imagine eCommerce Conference that we had targeted for Fall 2011. As you can “Imagine” this event takes a huge amount of effort from the Magento team, this competes with our own need for resources focused on our enormous growth and our core efforts of development of fantastic products, support and infrastructure.  And with that our decision became easy, we announced a Fall timing too quickly and we are all better served with one Imagine conference a year and now set Imagine 2.0 for early 2012. This allows for more time for all of us to plan for another world class event, allows us to explore more locations that fit the huge demand yet still is aligned with a Magento event and spirit!

Through our research and your feedback, we have learned that hosting multiple events thorough-out Europe is better and more effective for local attendees than a single country event, and with that we have enhanced our Magento event exposure in Europe.

European Events Calendar

Below are some of our upcoming European events and we are continuing to grow our calendar:

Coming Soon, Imagine 2012

We are working diligently on the next Imagine eCommerce Conference and will be announcing the new location and dates as soon as it is confirmed. One thing is for sure, it will again be a fantastic event, demand will be high and we hope to see you there! If you have questions or would like to provide feedback, please get in touch with us at .

To conclude, I’ll leave you with a video featuring one of the highlights of Imagine 2011 in Los Angeles earlier this year. We look forward to sharing more information about Imagine 2.0 in the months ahead. Rest assured, it will be epic!
